DENSOLEN®-MB60 is a cold-applied, highly tear-resistant mesh-backed single tape system for the durable corrosion protection of metal pipes and pipelines. Thanks to the highly tear-resistant geotextile fabric, very high lap-shear strength is guaranteed even under difficult conditions, e.g. with increased upward or downward movement of the pipe or during pipeline construction. At the same time, the tape is very flexible, e.g. in the longitudinal direction of the pipe or on welding joints.
DENSOLEN®-MB60 consists of an extremely tear-resistant geotextile fabric, which is asymmetrically embedded in a high-performance coating of modified butyl rubber. Compared to bitumen coatings, the butyl rubber coating does not tend to become brittle after a certain period of time. Even after decades of use, the tape can reliably withstand thermal and mechanical stresses. The very high tensile strength prevents the tape layers from wrinkling, which could allow oxygen, water and electrolytes to penetrate beneath the coating. Even at maximum operating temperatures, the coating remains in position and retains its integrity.

DENSOLEN®-MB60 is used for field-joint coating, full pipe coating and rehabilitation of pipelines. The innovative mesh-backed corrosion protection tape is characterised by excellent resistance to shear loads in the vertical direction and simultaneous flexibility in the horizontal direction. It is therefore particularly suitable for use in applications with high mechanical loads due to pipe movement (e.g. due to temperature fluctuations, ground movement and traffic loads). DENSOLEN®-MB60 complies with the leading international standards ISO 21809-3 and EN 12068 with just one wrapping process as a so-called single tape system. Thanks to its excellent processing quality, it can be easily applied by hand or with the support of a DENSOMAT® wrapping device.
